How do I search for listings?
Click on the Search button and enter your gun criteria.
My search is returning too many guns. How can I narrow my search?
Once on the search page, choose your category and enter as much or as little information to narrow your search results. Any additional search information you add will serve to narrow your responses to the exact gun(s) you are looking for.
Can I save 'favorite' listings to look at later?
Yes, but first you must register. Sign up for free and you may save your favorite listings to your account for future review. You can select firearms to save by clicking the 'add-to-favorite' button on the results page.
Can I have a wish list of guns I'm searching for?
Yes, but first you must register. Sign up for free and as a member you may save your wish list of items to your account. When an ad is placed that matches your filter you are automatically notified by e-mail from the system. It's that easy.
How do I inquire about a particular listing?
Again, you must be registered. Once you click the active link for a posted classified listing there’s a link for you to follow, you may contact the seller by any means they have provided.
How do I add my listings to FirearmsLocator.com?
Simple, Register! All fields with an asterisk (*) are required. You will need a valid e-mail address to register. On the registration page you will choose a username and password, accept terms of use, and submit registration. That’s it!

Simple, Straight Forward, and Easy To Use!
The following information is provided as guide only to buying or selling firearms online. This information does not cover all applicable laws, but should be helpful regarding many questions you may have if you are not familiar with the buying and selling of firearms online.
How Do I Buy Firearms Online?
- Contact the seller about the item you are interested in.
- Make an agreement with seller regarding the terms of sale. This agreement should include information regarding payment, shipping and any other details. (Inspection period, etc…)
- If you have not done so already, contact your local Firearms Dealer and inquire if they would accept delivery and take care of a firearms transfer for you. Be sure to inquire and understand their charge for this service.
- All sellers, both firearms dealers and private individuals, must ship modern firearms to a licensed firearms dealer. (FFL) See the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives website for information.
- Upon receipt, your local firearms dealer will insure that all paperwork and checks are completed prior to delivering your item.
- As a courtesy to the seller, when you have received the item purchased, please contact them to let them know that you have received the item as well as any additional comments you may have.
- Enjoy your latest addition.
How Do I Sell Firearms Online?
- Write up the description and any information about the firearm(s) you wish to advertise for sale.
- Take the best pictures you can of the firearm(s). Pictures are important and you can put up to 5 photos at NO CHARGE!
- Log on to your account (if you do not have an account with FirearmsLocator.com, create one) and then simply click on New Listing and follow the easy instructions that will guide you step by step through the listing process.
- The final step in the listing process will have you review and confirm your ad information and photos. Once confirmed, your ad will be available for viewing online worldwide!
- Once an agreement is made with a buyer regarding payment, shipping, and any other details, any modern firearm must be shipped to a licensed dealer (FFL). Private individuals, as well as licensed dealers, can ship any modern firearm to a licensed dealer for transfer to the ultimate end user. Shipping to a licensed dealer can be verified by going to atfonline.gov/fflezcheck/
